This beautiful region has a lot to offer:

the pretty and dynamic town of Malmedy, Stavelot and its abbey, the F1 circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, Spa and its thermal baths with their relaxing atmosphere, and, of course there is also Monschau, with its small streets, its half-timbered houses and its famous Christmas market.

In the immediate surroundings, just a few minutes drive from Maison Ruthier, are the lake of Bütgenbach and the lake of Robertville where water rats and sunbathers can get their money’s worth. Both lakes have a supervised swimming area with a beach. You can hire boats, play on the beach and enjoy a lot of water activities. The Reinhardstein castle is located near the dam of the lake of Robertville.

You can also enjoy some original activities in the nearby area, such as rides on electric scooters or even a draisine ride – Railbike. And if you feel like hunting for treasures – geocaching -, there are plenty of geocaches nearby…

Numerous signposted hikes on bicycle routes or mountain bike routes will delight outdoor lovers of all levels and allow them to discover the wonderful landscapes of the High Fens.

In winter, the cross-country skiing tracks and the alpine ski slope at Ovifat will delight wintersport fans! The cross-country tracks are only 5 kilometres away.
